Police discover a grizzly finding in the trunk of a man involved in an auto accident which leads to further horrifying revelations.
Back in 2019, for several weeks a mother worried over the fate of her daughter. Police searched for Casei Jones after her mother reported her missing but had found no clues as to her whereabouts. However, the police made a shocking discovery after searching the inside of her husband's vehicle following a traffic accident. The 32-year-old Florida mom's remains were found near Brantley County, Georgia. Police arrested Michael Wayne, age 38, who would later lead them to the couple's four dead children's bodies.
Casei's children Alyana Jones, age 1, Mercalli Jones, age 2, Preston Bowers, age 5, and Cameron Bowers, age 10, were last seen six weeks ago from the day police discovered their bodies in Ocala, Florida. After Nikki Jones, Casei's mother hadn't heard from her daughter in over a month, soon her family became worried. Police at the time considered the woman and her children to be endangered. In an interview with a local news outlet, Nikki pleaded for her child's safe return, saying:
“I’ve never ever been so scared. They don’t know where she’s at. They went to the house, and she’s gone. The house is empty. Casei’s my baby.
She was my last one. I don’t want nothing to happen to her. ” Talking about her grandchildren, she said, “Just like my kids — I don’t know what I would do without any of them. I want them at home. I want them home safe. ”
The worried mom then added:
“And if anybody knows anything please, please. I’m begging mothers all over the world, if you see my daughter and my grandkids to please be a mother and call the police.”
After she contacted police, they posted a photo of Jones' vehicle, a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. Authorities asked the public to contact them if they had any information concerning the vehicle.
Following the recovery of the bodies, the Marion County Sheriff's office said via a press conference:
“As a father, as a parent, it breaks my heart. As a sheriff, it angers me,” the Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods said.
The sheriff also explained that Nikki's daughter's husband and father of her four grandchildren, Michael Wayne Jones Jr. was the central figure that allowed them to uncover the five murders. Police believe the suspect stored his children's bodies at home and in his vehicle for weeks before transporting them to Brantley County, Georgia.
