Not a good thing to wake up to.
A Detroit woman who was flying on Delta Airlines says she woke up in the middle of her flight to discover a well-known pastor urinating on her on the airplane. The woman is Alicia Beverly and she said that she dozed off in the backseat of a flight from Las Vegas to Detroit. She woke up to feeling a strange sensation that she describes as "warm." “It felt warm, like on the side of me I felt something warm,” Beverly told WJBK . She was shocked when she realized another passenger on the flight was peeing on her. Alicia did what most of us would do, I think, and that is she jumped up and screamed.
“I jump up and I [saw] his private area out and I screamed and that woke everybody up,” Beverly said. “By that time I actually looked at him and I see him shake himself off and I’m like, ‘This man just peed on me!'” Other passengers quickly rushed to help her, and one of them was an off-duty police officer who restrained the man, the news outlet reported. However, they had several hours left of the flight, so Alicia was forced to sit in the clothes that were soaked with urine. As it turns out, the pastor is a well-known North Carolina pastor who apparently had a negative reaction to sleep aid medication.
Reports say that the pastor was taken into custody but hasn't been charged yet. The FBI handles incidents that occur in the air. It sounds like a gross but honest mistake, and it's unlikely the man was deliberately urinating on someone, although who knows? He probably thought he was in the bathroom, especially if he was having a bad reaction to something like Ambien, a sleeping pill that's well-known for causing confusion like this. Alicia says that she still has "high anxiety" from the situation, which was horrifying for her to go through.
“It was a lot. My anxiety was really high literally. Since then I have only gotten four hours of sleep,” she told WJBK. Delta Airlines hasn't responded to a request for comment yet.
